AUTONOMOUS ACQUISITION OF REALITY
Leica BLK ARC is an autonomous laser scanning module for robots. It is designed to be integrated with robotic transporters to enable autonomous mobile laser scanning with little to no human intervention. Users can simply plan a scan path and set up BLK ARC alone to scan autonomously.
The BLK ARC is a laser scanning device that can be mounted on three different robot mounts:
- Spot by Boston Dynamics is a quadruped robot capable of moving agilely in difficult environments.
- ANYmal by ANYbotics is a quadrupedal robot that can carry heavy loads.
- Summit XL by Robotnik is a wheeled robot suitable for all surfaces.
In combination with one of these robots, BLK ARC can perform autonomous, repeatable, high-precision laser scans. This allows you to map environments and create detailed 3D models, even in dangerous or hard-to-reach areas.
For now, BLK ARC is compatible with Spot, ANYmal and Summit XL robots, however, we are working to add support for other robots and integrations, including upon customer request.
Leica BLK ARC UI
With BLK ARC UI, an easy-to-use browser-based user interface, users can plan scan paths remotely using existing drawings or BIM models of your building, including large and complex spaces. This saves the user time and allows the BLK ARC to scan complex or dangerous environments while remaining in a safe location. The BLK ARC user interface allows the user to:
- Operate the robot's various sensors and accessory tools
- Create user profiles
- Manage robot and scan settings
- Check the robot's trajectory and cameras
BLK ARC UI bridges the gap between the office and the field and allows offline missions planned in Cyclone 3DR to be uploaded to the robot. Once the mission is complete, the BLK ARC user interface helps route data into our legacy software, Leica Cyclone, or upload directly from the field to HxDR.
BLK ARC combined with robotic vehicles creates a fast, simple, safe and autonomous laser scanning workflow.
